We had a large protein shake spill on our carpet and found it was very difficult to get out, particularly the smell. After about a week of trying to shampoo it on our own, we decided to enlist professional help. Gary was able to fit us in the same day we called. Sometimes your friends or visitors may choose to ignore or disregard your home’s no smoking rule. You may also be considering moving into a new home whose previous occupants were smokers. Well, you wouldn’t want the noxious smell to stick around your home no matter the cause. Here are some tips that homeowners can use to get rid of smoke smell from their homes.

Use Vinegar on Fabrics

You’ll realize that smoke smell often lingers in fabrics, especially when someone has been smoking in their living space for a long time. Of course, removing every fabric from your room isn’t very practical. However, you can start with blankets, curtains, pillows, beddings, and other fabrics items that you can possibly remove from your smelly room. Add two cups of vinegar to the load in your washing machine. Remember to use a fluff cycle or low heat to dry the fabric items after washing. You may also wipe down your floors, furniture, and walls using vinegar as it cuts through odors naturally.

Use Baking Soda on Furniture and Carpets

We had a large protein shake spill on our carpet and found it was very difficult to get out, particularly the smell. After about a week of trying to shampoo it on our own, we decided to enlist professional help. Gary was able to fit us in the same day we called. He and his team were very conscientious, knowledgeable and enjoyable to work with. They also took the time to explain the process of how they were going to treat the carpet. Gary and the gang came over to clean my tile and grout. They showed up on time, helped move things around, and got started fast. The tile looked great in the end and it’s so nice to know I have really clean floors. My bengal cats were additionally thrilled that everyone was a cat lover, willing to pet them as demanded, and keep them safe as the floors were being cleaned.
